HayWire Chupacabra
Cartoonist / Welder / Fulltime Lunatic

Hullo, I'm Lazlo! Otherwise known as HayWire.

I'm a French-Canadian aspiring artist living in an abandoned butcher shop with my homunculus creation that tells me government conspiracies, for instance: the idea that there is a void in the field that constantly projects strange expensive underwear into my residence.
That aside, I am a recent graduate from an illustration and animation post-secondary program. I previously worked as a dietary aide in a retirement home, and quit to peruse the demands of the shrews that pilot my skinsuit, who tell me to draw bizarre little bug creatures. I hope it'll land me in a job someday, but I've still got a lot to learn!
I'm a fan of character concept art, though I enjoy experimenting with interior layout, ink works, and vehicle sketches. The majority of my work is character-centered. I create grotesque designs and peculiar stories in my free time. If that interests you, feel free to take a gander at my progress so-far! Or take a peek at my bi-monthly blog? It's linked at the end. ;-)

More Meat!

Hey, you made it to the end! Bravo! I hope nothing bit you on the way through.
_______
There are various things that have inspired me to illustrate my ideas over the years. Some of my biggest influences being the work of Tim Burton, Skottie Young, and Seb Burnett! And, of course, my wonderful teachers who motivate me to keep drawing. I hope to continue to improve and better these pieces!

More Yacking? Don't mind if I do!

My current interests are bugs [specifically silverfish], shrews, pastas, Cadillacs, tiled walls, the process of making a homunculus, and the Saw franchise. This may or may not be reflected in my art. ;-)My work is not designed for the lighthearted or viewers under the age of 16, as I to tend to tackle some unsavory topics in my work. My main storyline takes place in a lunatic asylum in 1994, which displays various outdated and inhumane medical treatments, as well as touchy subjects like mutilation, cults, obsessive behaviors, abuse, firearms, the military, and so fourth. If you are uncomfortable, you are in no way obligated to interact with my work. All that I ask is that you refrain from taking heavy inspiration from my stories or tracing my art! I work hard to make it what it is, and reference my own life experiences, and seeing how frequently people treat it as their own is disappointing. Go be original, go be your own human being, and make something that is true to yourself, not for the gaze of others!
Additionally, please do not attempt to contact me in reference to anything other than art or film. Yes, I'd love to see your drawing! No, I do not care what your wallpaper tastes like! Thank you for respecting my boundaries!

Remember that blog I mentioned earlier? Here it is, along with all my other socials!
